The Poetry Croft began in 2012 as Words For Leaving – a repository for my poems and song lyrics. I would drop my creative work onto this platform intermittently, like breadcrumbs, as I attempted to maintain a demanding career, and raise my daughter as a single mom. Now I have more time on my hands to reflect, write and nurture the loves in my life.

My interest is in experiences of love, longing and loss – in relationship with the divine, with humans and other sentient beings. I invite you to stay here a while, where all are welcome.

I am grateful to Marc Farr, a talented photographer, adventurer and kayaker based in the Scottish Highlands who gave me permission to use some of his work on my blog. Thank you Marc.
